Bahia Resort Hotel Takes Top Honors in California Green Lodging Program

Resort Receives Highest Ranking for Outstanding Environmental Practices

San Diego, California (December 2012) –
The Bahia Resort Hotel’s efforts to “go green” have resulted in a top designation from the California Green Lodging Program.

The resort was recently awarded the “Environmentalist Level” by the state program, which acknowledges and promotes lodging facilities that demonstrate water and energy conservation, waste minimization, recycling, environmentally friendly purchasing, program sustainability, and pollution prevention.

The “Environmentalist Level” is the top tier among the program’s award categories. As acknowledgement of the resort’s achievement, the Bahia will be displayed as a major green hotel on the California Green Lodging website, on AAA and Travelocity directories, and on the Concur Travel website, the State of California’s new online booking tool.

“California is known around the world for its natural beauty, and we consider it a top priority to help protect and conserve our precious natural resources,” said Jim Greene, Bahia Resort Hotel General Manager. “We are proud to receive this designation from the State of California for our tireless efforts to uphold the highest standards of integrity and environmental ethics in our daily operations.”

Secluded on a 14-acre peninsula in the heart of Mission Bay, the Bahia Resort Hotel boasts 314-rooms which include beach-front cottages, studios with panoramic views, and spacious bayside suites—all surrounded by tropical landscaping.
