Celebrate Thanksgiving by the Bay at the Bahia Resort Hotel
San Diego, CA (October 2008) The Bahia Resort will celebrate Thanksgiving by the Bay on Thursday, November 27, offering an elegant brunch buffet; boat cruises on Mission Bay, and a buffet dinner featuring traditional holiday favorites.
Thanksgiving Day Buffet Brunch
The festivities begin with a champagne Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet, served in the Mission Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will enjoy the piano artistry of John Cain and spectacular views overlooking Mission Bay while sampling a dazzling array of breakfast and lunch favorites, including omelets and waffles, bacon and sausage, assorted pastries. Carved items include traditional Roast Tom Turkey with giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, Black Angus Prime Rib served with au jus, and succulent Baked Ham with a sweet maple and honey glaze. Seafood lovers can choose from Grilled Pacific Salmon served with orange salsa on a bed of roasted corn, assorted sautéed seafood with lobster fennel cream sauce, and peel & eat shrimp. Grilled Chicken Breast with glazed turnips and carrots in a light herb broth offers a light but satisfying alternative. Kids who haven’t yet developed a taste for turkey will love the Special Knee-High Buffet, catering to a youthful palate with Chicken Dinos, Macaroni and Cheese, Pizza, Tater Tots, Fresh Fruit and Jello.
Make a trip to the famous Bahia Salad Bar, sample a fresh Fruit and Cheese montage, and graze from the “Sweet Retreat” dessert selection: Eggnog Cheesecake, Ice Cream with warm Jubilee Sauce, White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce, and of course, pie. Kids will feel that they’ve opened the best gift of all when they visit the special Knee High Buffet, featuring treats designed for youthful appetites: Chicken Dinos, Macaroni and Cheese, Pizza, Tater Tots, and fresh fruit and Jello for dessert.
Accompaniments include saffron rice, candied yams, herb and bacon cornbread stuffing, baked acorn squash with honey brown sugar, and Brussels sprouts with caramelized onions. The famous Bahia Salad Bar features domestic and exotic greens and specialty salads, including fresh Cranberry and Orange Salad, Spicy Bay Shrimp Salad, Jicama Corn Black Bean Salad, and the Naples Antipasto Display. The Fruit and Cheese Montage presents an enticing variety of fresh seasonal fruits matched with assorted cheeses.
It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without your favorite desserts, and our Sweet Retreat features Bananas Foster, Ice Cream, Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce, and a selection of traditional pies: Mincemeat, Southern Pecan, Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, and Apple.
Prices are $39.95 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 5 – 12 (those under 5 eat free), and include mimosas, champagne, and a complimentary cruise on the waters of Mission Bay aboard the William D. Evans, a “Turn of the Century,” Mississippi-style sternwheeler. Cruises depart at 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m.
