San Diego, California (November 2006) – The Bahia Resort will celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year with elegant brunch buffets, boat cruises on glittering Mission Bay, holiday buffet dinners boasting traditional favorites with an innovative twist, and holiday rates for deluxe accommodations.

Christmas Day Buffet Brunch
The festivities begin with a Christmas Day Brunch Buffet, served in the Mission Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will enjoy the piano artistry of John Cain and spectacular views overlooking Mission Bay while sampling a dazzling array of breakfast and lunch favorites, including an omelet station, bacon and sausage, assorted pastries. Carved items include traditional Roast Tom Turkey with giblet gravy and cranberry sauce and Roast Baron of Beef with green peppercorn au jus. Assorted pastas and sauces, broiled breast of chicken, pecan crusted pork loin, and grilled mahi mahi, all served with traditional accompaniments.

Make a trip to the famous Bahia Salad Bar, sample a fresh Fruit and Cheese montage, and graze from the “Sweet Retreat” dessert selection: Eggnog Cheesecake, Ice Cream with warm Jubilee Sauce, White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce, and of course, pie. Kids will feel that they’ve opened the best gift of all when they visit the special Knee High Buffet, featuring treats designed for youthful appetites: Chicken Dinos, Macaroni and Cheese, Pizza, Tater Tots, and fresh fruit and Jello for dessert.

Prices are $36.95 for adults and $18.95 for children ages 5 – 12 (those under 5 eat free) and include a complimentary cruise on Mission Bay aboard the Bahia Belle sternwheeler. Cruises depart at 11:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Christmas Dinner Buffet
The Bahia Café will temporarily defer its regular menu to offer a Christmas Dinner Buffet from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Begin with a visit to the Bahia Salad Bar, including domestic and exotic greens with your favorite toppings and choice of dressing and specialty salads: Wild Rice Roasted Corn and Sun Dried Cranberry Salad, Marinated Mushroom Salad, and Spicy Bay Shrimp Salad. Next, choose from a selection of entrees including Carved Roast Tom Turkey with giblet gravy and cranberry sauce; Roast Baron of Beef with green peppercorn au jus; Broiled Breast of Chicken with roasted red pepper sauce, topped with pine nuts and goat cheese; and Grilled Mahi Mahi with red chili-cilantro vinaigrette. Accompaniments include Sausage Apple and Walnut Stuffing and Holiday Vegetable Medley. Finish your meal and satisfy your sweet tooth with a range of tempting dessert treats. Prices are $28.95 for adults, $17.95 for children ages 5-12 (those under 5 eat free).

New Year’s Eve at the Bahia
Welcome the New Year with a special evening of dining and holiday party cruises, all set against the romantic backdrop of shimmering Mission Bay. Choose from these deluxe packages:

New Year’s Eve Room Package. The package includes:

  • Deluxe accommodations (double occupancy) for the night of December 31. Rates:
    Standard Accommodations: $270.00 ($135.00 / person)
    Studio Accommodations: $300.00 ($150.00 / person)
    Suite Accommodations: $330.00 ($165.00 / person).
    Rates based on double occupancy. Additional nights may be purchased separately.
  • Prime Rib Dinner Buffet served in the Mission Ballroom, with sweeping views of Mission Bay, between 5:30 and 7 p.m. on December 31.
  • Passage for two aboard Mission Bay’s most elegant Sternwheeler Party Boat, the William D. Evans. Boarding begins at 8 p.m. for the New Year’s Cruise on Mission Bay from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Revelers will feast from a Chef’s selection dessert buffet, served from 10 p.m. to midnight. Dance away 2006 to live music on all levels, and ring in 2007 with party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. A cash bar is available. Space is limited, so make your reservations early.
  • After a restful night at the Bahia, awaken to a new year with a bountiful Breakfast Buffet for two on the morning of January 1.

The Bahia Belle New Year’s Package.
Your New Year’s Eve begins with a prime rib buffet dinner in the Mission Ballroom between 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Beginning at 8:45 p.m., board the Bahia Belle, a “Turn of the Century,” Mississippi-style sternwheeler to cruise Mission Bay from 9 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Party favors, live music and dancing, and a will-call package bar provide the ingredients for a festive New Year’s Eve celebration. Staying ashore? The Tangier Lounge & Bar will feature a “lighter fare” menu between 11:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Happy Hour, with discounted food and beverages, is offered between 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Live entertainment from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Café Bahia will serve breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and its regular dinner menu from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
