Christmas Day Feasts, New Year’s “Stay and Party” Cruise Highlight the Holidays at the Bahia Resort Hotel
San Diego, California (December 2005) – You’ll find the most magical holidays in San Diego on the scenic shores of Mission Bay, where the Bahia Resort Hotel is offering two delectable feasts on Christmas Day and a sparkling Mission Bay Stay and Party Cruise for bringing in the New Year with romance and style.
On Sunday, December 25, the Bahia Christmas Day Brunch will fill the beautiful Mission Ballroom with holiday spirit and a delectable array of traditional and contemporary favorites. As they enjoy breathtaking views of Mission Bay, guests will select from an abundance of special dishes highlighted by Carved Tom Turkey and Roasted Baron of Beef, Pecan-Crusted Pork Loin, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sausage Apple and Walnut Stuffing, an assortment of fresh gourmet salads and the famous Bahia Salad Bar. The irresistible desserts will include Eggnog Cheesecake and White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. For children, a Special Knee-High Buffet will feature Chicken Dinos, Macaroni and Cheese, Pizzas, Tater Tots, Fresh Fruit, and Jello. Brunch is from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 25, at $36.95 for adults and $18.95 for children 5-12 years of age, with no charge for children under 5 years of age. With a paid Christmas Brunch Buffet, sternwheeler cruises are free.
On Christmas evening, the Bahia Café will offer an elaborately delicious Christmas Dinner Buffet featuring Chef Carved Roasted Tom Turkey with giblet gravy and cranberry sauce, Grilled Mahi-Mahi with Red Chili-Cilantro Vinaigrette, Sausage Apple and Walnut Stuffing, Wild Rice Roasted Corn and Sun Dried Cranberry Salad, the famous Bahia Salad Bar, and assorted sweet treats. The dinner buffet will be served from 5:30 to 10:30 pm on Sunday, December 25, at $28.95 for adults and $17.95 for children 5-12 years of age; there is no charge for children under 5 years of age.
The turn-of-the-century-style sternwheelers William D. Evans and Bahia Belle will cruise Mission Bay all day on Christmas Day for guests and the general public. Departures from the Bahia are at 11:30 am and 12:45, 2:00, 3:30, and 5:00 pm (last pickup). Departures from the Catamaran are at 12:00 noon and 1:30, 2:45, and 4:15 pm (last pickup). Last stop for debarking passengers is 5:30 pm at the Catamaran and 6:00 pm at the Bahia. Passage is $6.00 at boarding, $3.00 for children under 12. Cruise is free with paid Bahia Brunch Buffet.
To bring in the New Year 2006, the Bahia is offering the height of luxurious fun in a Mission Bay Stay and Party Cruise. The package includes an overnight stay, dinner at the Bahia, a New Year’s Eve party aboard a picturesque sternwheeler on the beautiful Bay, and New Year’s Day breakfast. Checking in on the afternoon of December 31, guests will choose from the Bahia’s tropical garden or bayfront rooms and enjoy an all-you-can-eat prime rib dinner buffet from 5:30PM to 7:30PM in the Del Mar Room. The after-dinner party is aboard the 100-foot, Victorian-style William D. Evans Sternwheeler, with boarding beginning at 8 PM and departure at 8:30 PM with the party ending at 1:30 am. Once aboard, partygoers will enjoy an impressive Chef’s Buffet that includes the famous Appetizer Montage and a selection of delicious desserts from 10:00 PM to 12:00 midnight. Entertainment includes live music from the Nude Blues Band and dancing on all levels of the sternwheeler, along with party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. The package includes a leisurely buffet breakfast for two at Cafe Bahia the next morning. Packages begin at $135 per person based on double occupancy (all tax and gratuity included), and space is limited to the first 250 guests.
The Bahia Belle is also cruising Mission Bay on Public runs between the Bahia Resort Hotel and the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa from 6:30 pm to 1:30 am. The cost is $20 per person and includes a Champagne Toast at midnight, party favors and entertainment. Tickets are now on sale at the Café Bahia.
