Family-Friendly Fun For Summer 2006 At The Bahia Resort Hotel
Live Entertainment, Boat Cruises on the Bay Every Day
of the Week, and Special Events for Kids and Parents
San Diego, California (March 2006) – Every day feels like a vacation on the beautiful shores of Mission Bay, and the Bahia Resort Hotel is offering a particularly lively itinerary of recreational activities, live entertainment, and special events for every member of the family for the summer of 2006.
A summer tradition for area residents and a treat for visitors, the Bahia Belle will cruise through the lovely summer evenings on Mission Bay every day of the week at 6:30 pm. This summer’s cruises boast a full calendar of live entertainment for all ages – and as always, Bahia Belle cruises are free for registered guests of the hotel. Every Wednesday beginning June 7, a disc jockey will set the rhythm for dancing under the stars from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. Thursdays and Saturdays will bring the blues, with the “Nude Blues” Blues Cruise from 8:30 pm to 1:30 am, and on Fridays “B Natural” delivers Top 40 hits from 8:30 pm to 1:00 am. On Tuesdays beginning July 5, “Private Domaine” will perform from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am. Kids will enjoy the songs of Emmy Award-nominee Lisa Laughbaum of The Children’s Music Workshop, performing Sundays beginning July 9 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Then, from 9:00 pm to midnight, parents can stay up for the “Nude Blues Solo”. And on Monday nights beginning July 11, enjoy the classic rock of “Fish & the Seaweeds” from 8:30 pm to 12:00 am.
Another favorite returning to the Bahia for Summer 2006 is Movie Nights at the Pool. Beginning July 8, films will be screened each Tuesday and Saturday evening from dusk to 11:00 pm. Enjoy the evening’s entertainment from the heated comfort of the pool, bobbing along on your own inner tube provided by the Bahia!
Special buffets sure to please a family-wide range of tastes will be featured at the Bahia Café beginning in July, with a variety of themed menus and live entertainment offered on the patio. Fuel up for the day’s events at the Breakfast Buffet from 6:30 am to 10:30 am, seven days a week. After a day full of fun on the beach, enjoy a variety of elaborate themed menus and live entertainment at the Bahia Café. On Mondays, experience the Caribbean Dinner Buffet with musical accompaniment by the Caribbean Steel Drum Band, “U-B Jammin.” Tuesdays feature an Italian Buffet with music provided by a disc jockey, and on Thursdays, a live Mariachi band provides a festive musical backdrop for the Mexican Dinner Buffet. Saturdays will feature a Prime Rib Dinner Buffet at $21.95 for adults and $12.95 for children, with live entertainment from “The Bone” starting July 8. All dinner buffets are offered 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
Nighttime at the Bahia brings a wealth of options from mystery to dancing. Mystery Café, named “Best Dinner Theater” by San Diego Magazine and the San Diego Reader, returns to Bahia Hotel on July 5 for their fourth summer engagement with the interactive murder mystery “Survive This!”. This fast-paced, comedic dinner theater presentation takes place on the turn-of-the-century-style sternwheeler William D. Evans each Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Solve a crime over dinner as the mystery unfolds all around you. For more information please visit www.mysterycafe.net.
If mystery-solving sounds too taxing after a warm day on glittering Mission Bay, relax at the Bahia’s Tangier Bar, open from 11:30 am to 1:30 am. Enjoy delicious discounts during Happy Hour, offered seven days a week from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm. And on Wednesday through Saturday beginning July 6, live piano music sets a languid and romantic atmosphere from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. A full bar accompanies great food at the Pool Bar and Grill, with service from noon to 5:00 pm daily beginning June 4. Starting July 7, add dancing to the menu with the Caribbean Steel Drum Band “U-B Jammin” on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, 1:00 pm to 5 pm.
