St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) – To kick off spring break, the Bahia Belle will be cruising on St. Patrick’s Day. This will be treated similar to a public run with the addition of special holiday beer & 16oz. Guinness cans. In the evening we will offer a trio of corned beef and cabbage “sliders” as well as Guinness Beef Stew in a sourdough bread bowl at both the Café Bahia and Tangier Lounge.
Spring Break Activities & Pool Grill (March 17 – April 24) – The Pool Bar will be open Thursday through Sunday with sandwiches and salads available. Saturdays and Sundays will feature a barbeque grill with hamburgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken sandwiches. Spring Break Specialty drinks will be offered for both adults and children. Served in the elegant Mission Bay Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will enjoy the piano artistry of John Cain and spectacular views overlooking Mission Bay as they sample a dazzling array of breakfast and lunch favorites, including an omelet and waffle station, bacon and sausage, and assorted pastries. Chef Famulare originally joined Evans Hotels in January of 2005 as the Restaurant Chef of The Atoll at the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa.  While there, Famulare created a unique fusion of Pacific Rim and Californian cuisine for the bayfront restaurant at the Bahia’s sister property.  Prior to his position at The Catamaran, Chef Famulare was the Kitchen Manager at the renowned Beachcomber Restaurant in Wellfleet, Massachusetts and the Restaurant Chef for Dalia’s Bistro and Wine Bar in Boston.

Chef Famulare started working in restaurants as a summer job at the age of 15. Quickly gaining the expertise and knowledge of the culinary industry, by 17 he was sauté cook at one of the busiest waterfront restaurants in Cape Cod. His love for fresh seafood started on Cape Cod, and during his time cooking in the Virgin Islands. However, Famulare feels that the fresh California produce in San Diego is exceptional. Chef Rob has a great appreciation for culinary innovation and excellence, and it will be evident in every dish at the Bahia.
